Secluded mountain lodge with fantastic view of the Palisades Reservoir from the front deck. Nature abounds while you keep an eye out for the Osprey's that live in the neighborhood. Deer, Elk, Moose and a wide variety of Raptors are among the daily visitors. This lodge is at the “end of the road” for all practical purposes. If you are looking for seclusion, and huge views, then you've arrived. Access is solid but you will want to have a 4 wheel drive vehicle in the early spring or late fall. Trailers are not advised due to the turnaround options. However, there are several large public parking areas in the area where you an offload the toys! Take advantage of this great area with "World Class Fishing" on the South Fork of the Snake River, Launch below the Palisade Dam less than a mile away. Trail rides are available just down the road as well. Not to mentiona there are miles of trails for ATVs in Swan Valley and the Palisades. This is a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom house in Irwin, Idaho on the South Fork of the Snake River. The South Fork of the Snake River is one of the most exciting trout fishing rivers in the nation. It is a fast river with beautiful scenery and amazing fly fishing. This house was built in the mid 1990's by a man who wanted to have a fly fishing base of operations on the South Fork. He had a few criteria for this house: 1. It needed to be very close to the South Fork so that he could get on the water quickly. 2. It needed to be super private. 3. It needed to have all of the comforts of home that you need when returning from a long day on the river The property is on about 7 acres and is very private. It has a full kitchen and large dining room table. The property has a path down to the river. The nearest store and gas are about 5 miles away. The 2 closest airports are Jackson Hole and Idaho Falls (both are about 45-50 miles away).

This charming home is sitting on 7 acres with a city park across the street. Looking out your kitchen window there is 150 acres of field all the way to the snake river which is less than a quarter of a mile away. We are located in a small valley with the caribou mountains behind our house and the Targhee mountain range in front of our house. Two bedrooms one with a king bed and large screen TV one with a trundle bed making twin beds. The living room has a couch that someone could sleep on. Fully furnished kitchen with all the pots and pans dishes silverware you could need. Comfortable living room with a couch and love seat both with recliners and big screen TV. I think you could have a very pleasant stay and feel right at home in this comfortable little house in a country setting. We are within 60 miles of three ski lodges and Jackson Hole, WY. We are 100 miles from Yellowstone Park. We have great snowmobiling areas close to our house. There is a covered patio with a BBQ grill and lawn furniture. We also have a fire pit with plenty of wood available. You will also have a picnic table to use. All the doors are wide enough for a wheelchair. The shower is the size of a bath tub. The front entry doorway has about a 2 inch step to get in the house but that is the only step you will have. We are Superhosts on AIRBNB. Our place is close to Yellowstone Park, Jackson and the Wyoming border. The South Fork begins as it flows out of 20 mile long Palisades Reservoir in the community of Swan Valley, forming a 64-mile stretch of legendary tail-water fly-fishing. The South Fork is also a beautiful river for flat water rafting, canoeing and kayaking. Great hunting as well as snowmobiling and don't forget sight seeing!

Owl's Nest is our 1200 square foot guest lodge. It is the second story of our large free-standing garage and shop, and includes one bedroom with queen bed and two twin beds and a bath with shower, fully equipped kitchen with range, refrigerator, microwave, and washer and dryer. The living room includes a queen pull out trundle bed, so you can sleep lots of folks if needed. There is also a half bath in the hallway. We do not have TV in Owl's Nest but wifi is available, and we do have a TV/DVD player and a large DVD library. Our property includes a live water spring creek and pond with a dock and kayak. We are located 1 mile west of downtown Swan Valley, with its restaurants, bar, and mini mart. The South Fork of the Snake, world renowned as a Cutthroat trout fishery, flows through the valley, and we are a few miles from the world famous South Fork Lodge, which provides outfitter services for float trips and fine dining right on the river. Palisades Reservoir is 12 miles upstream, Jackson Hole, WY is 50 miles upstream, and Grand Teton National Park is a few miles beyond Jackson Hole. Idaho Falls, ID is 45 miles downstream, and Yellowstone National Park is about 90 miles beyond Idaho Falls. There are hiking trails and trout streams throughout the area. We invite you to have an experience. This will not be your typical VRBO rental. It is not a brand new condo or cabin and this is intentionally so. This home, while clean and updated, has history and nostalgia wrapped up in its walls, having been part of our family story since the early 1920's. Sitting on the beautiful Rainey Creek, this old stone home is in the heart of the Rocky Mountains and within walking distance of the Snake River. It was the home of some of the original Swan Valley settlers who farmed and ranched 160 acres for nearly a century. While it now features a new kitchen and bathroom, it still maintains its character throughout the rest of the home. A hundred years of old books line the shelves. There are original hardwood floors and an old player piano. Antique photos, artifacts and furniture reveal insights into the home's history. Decades ago, the upstairs attic was converted to bedrooms with slanted ceilings and slightly uneven floors. After indoor plumbing became available, a tiny closet bathroom was added upstairs as well. There are beds for seven and 1 and 1/2 baths. The kitchen is well stocked with most everything you'll need, as is the bathroom. Washer and dryer are also available. And YES, there are swans in Swan Valley! Several of them can be seen on Rainey Creek, right close to this property. The house lies on 1.3 acres of beautiful yard and landscape. Close by, a newer metal barn has a wall dedicated to artifacts and implements used on the farm over the past century (which we invite you to explore). Fishing and hunting licenses can be purchased locally. There are lots of things to do around Swan Valley: fishing, hiking, biking, 4-wheeling, snowmobiling, water skiing, and hunting. If you enjoy the outdoors, you'll love Swan Valley. Palisades Lake is only 10 miles away. It is also convenient to Targhee Ski area in Driggs, Victor, Jackson Hole, Alpine and Star Valley. Idaho Falls is only 43 miles away and Jackson Hole is 46 miles. Snake River rafting trips are also available and fun. The Table Rock hike just outside of Driggs is a strenuous 7 mile hike right to the back of the Tetons. The close up views of the Tetons from the top of Table Rock are absolutely breath taking. Welcome to our cabin retreat located at the base of Caribou Mountain adjacent to both the Caribou National Forest and the Grays Lake National Wildlife refuge in Southeastern Idaho. We sit on approximately 80 acres in the midst of a recreational wonderland. There are miles and miles of forest trails to hike, bike, cross country ski, snowshoe, snowmobile, ATV or horseback ride right from our front door. You can be fishing premier trout streams and mountain lakes within minutes, including the South Fork of the Snake River, Blackfoot River and Reservoir, Salt River, Grays River and our home water Tincup Creek. The Grays Lake National Wildlife Refuge is home to many species of wildlife and a birders haven. We often have resident populations of moose, deer, elk and sand hill cranes right on our property. This is a trophy hunting area for all big game species. Arrangements can be made with local outfitters and guides for both hunting and fishing. Most of all we offer tranquil seclusion. Enjoy some downtime and the beautiful scenery and wildlife. The closest towns with facilities are 30-40 miles away. Jackson Hole, Wyoming is about 70 miles and a great day trip. Your accommodations are self sufficient and luxurious. The guest quarters are not in the main cabin but occupy the upper floor of an adjacent log sided building. The accommodations feature an open floor plan of approximately 1000 square feet. There is a king size bed, double sofa sleeper, hardwood floors, eat- in kitchen, full bath, gas fireplace and laundry facilities. Even though we are secluded you will enjoy high speed internet, telephone service, satellite television, shared use of the spa, barbecue, outdoor campfire and much more. We welcome guests with horses and can arrange boarding for up to four horses. We have a three-stall barn and three adjacent outdoor pens. Additionally we have approximately 10 acres fenced with horse-safe Centaur fencing. We also have facilities for trailers and RV’s with one full hook-up.
